At present, alloy steel 42CrMo (4145 or 4140 in the international market, with only slight difference in sulfur and phosphorus content) is superior to C60 high carbon steel. C60 has been replaced by alloy structural steel 4140 or 4145 in the market.

In addition, 4145 and 4140 have ready-made ingots, and C60 needs custom ingots.

Generally speaking, in terms of mechanical strength and metal crystal structure, forging is better than casting, and generally the forging period is faster than casting.
